This team maintains flexibility in order to be prepared for abrupt changes based on the needs of the customer all while keeping costs and lead times down. The positive, can-do attitudes of these team members assist the interaction between vendors and other internal teams, facilitating the creation of brilliant products. The Purchasing team handles a large volume of projects and consistently finds innovative solutions to every-day tasks.Your ChallengeAs a Senior Buyer at DWFritz, you will be responsible to manage purchases and supplier performance for assigned spend categories.Your Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage supplier and category performance for assigned spend categories. Be responsible for setting and achieving aggressive targets, as well as driving performance, in total cost and operational impact.
  • Analyze quotations received, select or recommend suppliers with whom orders are to be placed.
  • Manage RFQs, purchase orders, and expedites from approved vendors per assigned commodities.
  • Initiate and manage total cost projects which result in price reductions, value and productivity improvements, cost avoidances and cost performance trade-offs.
  • Research assigned categories and commodities for new developments. Help to qualify new vendors as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for category specific projects delivering savings and efficiencies.
  • Lead procurement/supply chain improvement initiatives, as assigned.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Maintain a positive, productive relationship with project teams.
  • Follow department policy and procedures.

Your Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and sourcing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills within a collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP software and systems.
  • Proactive, results driven, and a keen sense of urgency.
  • Experience utilizing engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Your Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent experience is required
  • APICS CPIM certification/CSCP certification a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in New Product Development or in a Project-Based manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement best practices, processes and procedures
  • Experience in global sourcing, low-cost country sourcing preferred
  • Experience with Epicor ERP (Version 10+) preferred.
