Basic Purpose

To safely and efficiently operate all automated packaging machines, kettles, and fryers while maintaining highest quality, safety and GMP standards, in the packaging environment.


  • Operate packaging machines and equipment efficiently while maintaining highest quality standards.
  • Respond to production problems and take appropriate corrective action. Make necessary mechanical adjustments.
  • Maintain work area and equipment according to the highest GMP's, SOP's, and safety standards.
  • Complete required record-keeping tasks.
  • Be an active member of the food safety team with emphasis on teamwork spanning all work shifts.
  • Continually strive for improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Operate other packaging machines in response to business needs.
  • Work with minimum supervision; must be responsible and able to timely initiate appropriate work activities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous packaging machine or comparable manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
  • Ability to lift 15-50 lbs approximately 20% of the time.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with emphasis on being an active team member.
  • Good mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, averaging and percentages).
  • Must be quality oriented.
  • Basic computer skills a plus.
  • Ability to meet attendance guidelines and work overtime as needed.

Exposure to heat (90 to 110 degrees) and humidity (35 to 50%)

Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards

Standing and walking on concrete floors.
