Basic Purpose



This position is primarily responsible for cooking of the various products made at the plant. Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest food safety, quality, cost and GMP standards in a food manufacturing environment.



Responsibilities

  • Efficient operation of equipment specific to the area, and also general company equipment including cooking kettles, fryers, and packaging equipment. Identify possible equipment failure prior to actual breakdown.
  • Ensure SQF standards are met, including core temperatures, color, texture and taste.
  • Ensure that all SOPs are followed. This involves continuous interaction with Supervisor to ensure proper GMPs, checklists, and recipes are being followed in accordance with procedures.
  • Accurate daily completion of all paperwork for department.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food production experience.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Must be able to effectively train other employees.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds throughout the day.
  • Ability to multi-task due to occasional multiple process requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize/schedule a demanding work schedule.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to meet attendance guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all contacts both inside and outside the company.
